The 50 Top Financial Advisers

Clients will be delighted to know that Michael Chong of Voyage Financial Group has been recognized as one of Chicago’s Top 50 financial advisors. The April edition of Chicago Magazine reported the rankings in an article entitled, Many Happy Returns.
“Needless to say we are thrilled about the recognition,” Mike Chong exclaimed, “especially when you consider the Chicago telephone directory includes more than 2,850 businesses that are listed as financial advisors.”
“It’s one thing to tell clients you are providing great service and sound advice,” Tom Royce added. “It’s quite another to have Mike and our firm singled-out by a nationally recognized organization that makes its living studying financial advisors.”
Chicago Magazine commissioned R.J. Shook to conduct the study. His business, The Winner’s Circle, is widely respected for the independent research it conducts on financial advisors, including a national ranking that is published annually in Barron’s.
To determine Chicago’s top advisors, according to the magazine, “Shook and his team assembled a mountain of quantitative and qualitative evidence. They solicited nominations from securities firms, banks and other financial companies; reviewed internal compliance records, customer satisfactions data, and client retention rates; grilled members of management and industry peers; and conducted in-depth interviews with the advisors themselves.” Basis also included revenues, assets overseen and years of experience.
The article also reports, “The advisors on our list excel at bringing order to their clients’ financial affairs, managing the risk in their portfolios, and mapping strategies to meet their long-term financial goals.”
Voyage’s Chong ranked 37th among the Top 50. According to Shook, all of the financial advisors on the list “are looking after their clients’ best interests at all times.”
